8 Recommended Drinks For A Yummy Winter Wedding!

Winters are still here, and so is the wedding season. A winter wedding is special; it has that festive vibe and everyone loves the cosiness of this period of the year. When it comes to winter weddings, they’re perfect for all things comfortable, warm and cosy. Apart from the piping hot food varieties, the unique attraction is hot beverages and mocktails. Here we bring some hot, some strong, some boozy, some twisted flavours just for you.

1. Spiced Apple Cider Sangria

It is simple yet flavorful.

Ingredients:
1 bottle of inexpensive Spanish red wine
2 cups spiced apple cider
1/2 cup orange juice
1/2 cup brandy

Mix ingredients in a large pitcher and garnish with orange wheels and cinnamon sticks.

2. Pumpkin Pie Martini

Fun to have pumpkin pie in your glass.

Ingredients:
1/2 ounce Stoli Vanilla (optional to give it kick)
1-ounce pumpkin spice liqueur (such as Hiram Walker)
1/2 ounce Kahlua
1/2 ounce Butterscotch Schnapps
1/2 ounce half-and-half
crushed graham crackers
cinnamon stick (garnish)

Add all liquids in a shaker. Shake and strain into a large martini glass rimmed with crushed graham crackers. Garnish with a cinnamon stick.

3. Pink Peppermint Cocktail

Obsessed with peppermint flavour? ..this will surely satisfy your taste buds!

Ingredients:
1.5 ounces vodka
1/4 ounce brandy
1 tablespoon soft peppermint, crushed
mint sprigs, for garnish
soft peppermint stick, for garnish

Combine vodka and peppermint into a cocktail shaker, then stir until blended. Add brandy and then stir. Garnish with fresh mint sprigs and a soft peppermint stick.

4. Eggnog

This comfortable and soothing drink is the finest of all. It is full of richly creamy, rum-spiked, nutmeg-dusted, pure heaven.

Ingredients:
8 medium-size eggs
1 cup of sugar
3 cups whole milk
2 cups heavy cream
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 cup light rum
1/2 cup dark rum
Freshly grated nutmeg

Whisk the egg yolk and sugar together in a small bowl. Then, in a saucepan over medium-high heat, combine cream, milk, salt, and nutmeg and stir the mixture until it just reaches a simmer. Next temper the eggs by adding small spoonfuls of the hot mixture to the egg mixture. Then remove it from the heat and add the vanilla.

Serve it with whipped cream and an extra little dash of cinnamon and nutmeg on top.

5. Seven Bridges Road

In this some of the ingredients are sophisticated but, serving this to your guest will pop up your drink menu.

Ingredients:
1/2 cup clover honey
1 750-millilitre bottle Pimm’s No. 1
2 1/2 cups gin
2 cups curaçao, preferably Pierre Ferrand dry
2 cups fresh lemon juice
1 1/2 cups aquavit
1 750-millilitre bottle dry sparkling white wine
1 lemon, thinly sliced, studded with cloves

Dissolve honey in 1/3 cup hot water. Chill syrup until cold. Combine Pimm’s, gin, curaçao, lemon juice, aquavit, and honey syrup in a punch bowl and chill 2–6 hours.

Thirty minutes before serving, add wine, lemon slices, and ice cubes.

6. Cranberry & Orange Punch

This is for the fruit lovers, this drink is full of freshness and has originality.

Ingredients:
3 cups cranberry juice
2 cups apple cider
1/3 cup orange juice concentrate, thawed
1/3 cup Agave In The Raw
2 cups club soda
1 cup crushed ice
1 cup cranberries
1 apple, thinly sliced
7 orange wedges
7 cinnamon sticks

Mix together the cranberry juice, apple cider, orange juice concentrate and Agave in the Raw. Slide the orange wedges onto the cinnamon sticks. For each glass of punch, put a few cranberries and apple slices in a cup. Add a little ice and about 3/4 cup of the juice mixture. Fill the rest of the cup with about 1/4 cup of club soda and top with a cinnamon stick.

7. Coffee & Tea

The good old and evergreen option, which is a must and favourite of Indian wedding and can be called as a show stopper, the hot coffee and flavorful tea or chai.

Coffee – South Indian Filter coffee is always a hit, you can also keep Cappuccino, Mocha, Irish, Latte.

Tea – Masala chai, Ginger, Elaichi, Lemon twist

8. Hot Cocoa

This piping hot drink is favourite of not only children but the grown-ups love it too.

Ingredients:
2 cups of milk
2 cups half-and-half
1 cup good semisweet chocolate chips
Splash vanilla extract
1 teaspoon sugar, optional
Add whipped cream to serve..
To make the basic hot chocolate, combine the milk with the half-and-half in a small saucepan. Warm over medium-low heat, and then stir in the chocolate chips. Stir until melted (though there will still be lovely particles of chocolate throughout). If it’s too chocolaty for you, splash in a little more milk. Add a splash of vanilla extract. If it’s not quite sweet enough for you, add 1 teaspoon or so of sugar. Serve in mugs with whipped cream.
