Planning an Event?

Traditionally, Lohri was celebrated with songs, food, dance (especially bhangra and gidda) and music (especially dhol) in a traditional style. Lohri means good food, dance, and fun with friends and family. The music is especially important since there are many traditional special Lohri songs that have been sung for generations together. Today, along with these Desi songs, Bollywood music and DJ mixes are also part of the celebrations. But, Lohri songs are the very life of the whole celebration hence they are sung together with much vigor and excitement for all.

People simply love to dance to the tunes of the musical songs. “Dhol” is especially the main part of the overall festivity; the whole dancing is dependent on the rhythms of the Dhol. Many Bollywood movies have also depicted Lohri with special songs and choreography in traditional settings. People dance around the bonfire under the open skies marking the end of wintry colder months.
