As your child grows up, ask deeper questions. Older children respond well to in-depth questions. Infact, according to Erik Erikson, one of the pioneers in the field of child psychology, children from the ages of 3-5 battle among initiative vs. guilt, ie. they begin to explore and understand their surroundings while trying to assert control over their environment, so simple questions in this time period are encouraged.
