You’ve celebrated your engagement and the planning is underway—time to get your guests in the loop by sending them a wedding save-the-date card. This pre-invitation officially announces your wedding date and lets guests know that they will, in fact, be invited to the celebration. The basic rule of thumb is to send save the dates 6 months before the wedding. Usually this is known as a notification, sent to friends and family, in order to give them advance notice about an important event, such as a wedding.
