Ladies Sangeet Songs Saga. Dance as if no one is Watching!

Indian weddings are incomplete without the ladies’ sangeet event. Ladies from both sides are so excited for the Sangeet program that they start all the rehearsals months before the event. Thanks to Bollywood movies that never stops inspiring our ladies to show off their dancing and singing skills to create the magic in wedding events. It is the effect of Bollywood that Indian wedding celebrations became so much more beautiful and grander.

We should also be thankful to all those Bollywood musicians & choreographers who work so hard to develop songs & dance steps to make them the right fit for wedding events. We Indians always prefer to have ‘latka-jhatkas’ and ‘dhol-nagadas’ to steal the show at our wedding ceremonies. Sangeet is one of the pre-wedding functions which is celebrated with immense splendour and sensation.

Here, we present a compilation of some Bollywood hit tracks to help you create your own list for the Ladies Sangeet Party. Let’s get started.

Planning an Event?

Get ready to break the dance floor with these wedding numbers & make your sangeet event a memorable one.

Ganesh Vandana by Oldest Members

Begin the night by seeking the blessing from the oldest members of your family and God. Play a ‘Ganesh Vandana’ song and make all your grand moms and granddads dance. They will pray and wish for you to have a prosperous life ahead.

Jai Dev Jai Dev

There are many ‘Ganapati’ songs. But we like to suggest this particular one. You can design this with some slow but rhythmic movements, and that’s it. No added articulation, just praying with folded hands will be enough. Any number of family members can join in.

The role of Little Members: Sweet candies in action

Don’t ignore the little sweet candies at the Sangeet wali night. They are the twinkling stars of the party. Inspire them to perform and add sparkle to your sangeet party.

Itti Si Hasi (Barfi)

No doubt, little champs are performing, but we will not pick up any typical ‘Bachha’ types song. Instead, we will choose songs, through which they can express how your world will be in the future. So this number will be an apt match. Let them perform with their own classic and unique steps. You better keep in handy some chocolates for these sweet little candies.

Head to Head competition: Bride’s Brigade vs. Groom’s Battalion

Till here, your sangeet will have no battle side. This is the time to give a nudge to the guests. Announce a duel between two sides, involving friends, siblings, and cousins of both parties (bride side vs groom side OR girls vs boys). A sangeet ceremony without these battles will fail to achieve its grandeur. The frolic, banter, flirt, whistles all will be on in good spirits as soon as the competition begins.

How to Begin the Competition?

Convince all who are willing to participate and chalk out how it will proceed. Prepare a medley with four songs for each side. Then practice accordingly. Elderly members will decide the winners. You can engage many people here with a competitive spirit.

Medley Songs List: (Girl’s Side): A must for Bridal Party

Let the bride’s side start with “Saddi Galley” (Tannu Weds Mannu). This Punjabi song with ladies’ thumka, can be the best one to start competing with. Move on to the next, and our recommendation will be “Baby Doll” (Ragini MMS 2), a sizzler from Sunny Leone. One of the most played party songs will set fire on stage with the grace of ‘baby dolls’. “Kaliyon Jaisa Husn Jo Paya” (Machine) will be perfect for pampering yourself and making the boys whistle and dance with you. Have “Ladki Beautiful” (Kapoor & sons) in your medley at the end.

A Swell-show to be set up by the Boys Gang

Daler Mehendi and his “Tara ra ra” shall be the song for the boys to maintain the same vigor. Our suggestion is to perform some “bhangra” while moving your feet on this song. A sangeet party and boy’s performance demands a hit from “Bhaijaan”. The list is endless, but “Baby Ko Bass Pasand Hai” (Sultan) fits in such a duel. Don’t miss the teasing part to score extra points. The next song can be “Humma Humma” (Ok Jannu), a dazzler song for boys, and this will not give anyone any chance even to blink. After the high voltage one, another in the list can be “Abhi Toh Party Shuru Hui Hai” (Khoobsurat) to invite the girls too on stage. Rock the stage with the smashing moves.

Love Sequences for Prince Charming and his Dream Girl

Let the result of the competition to be on hold for some time. Sprinkle some spice with the solo performances of the would-be life-partners. Before you ask why solo? Let us tell you that this is the most convenient way for them to convey their dreams for the near future. A little tip for both the bride and the groom is to try to connect yourself with each other’s desires.

Ghoomar (Padmavati)

It will be a marvellous song for a bride to dance to. An elegant song with beautiful lyrics, designed to perform on such an auspicious occasion. Keep this one a secret for your lover. Wear a similar costume like Deepika’s, and it will mesmerize everyone. We guarantee that your groom won’t be able to stop himself from hugging you.

Tera Hero Idhar Hai (Main Tera Hero)

Unlike the bride, it will be better for the groom to go a little ‘Tapori’ style. The girl who is overjoyed by her presentation till then, can’t unhear the ‘palat’ from his hero. Just tune into this number and show your charismatic magic.

It’s Couple Time Now

Tere Bin, Simmba

This beautiful remake of Tere Bin from Simmba movie is one of the best track for couples to perform on their wedding Sangeet. No doubt this is a soulful love song with the heartiest lyrics, make sure that you do not miss this song in your dance songs list.

Bride’s Parents

Nobody can overlook the mixed emotions of the bride’s parents. They, too, deserve a chance to express their feelings. It’s better to have an emotional one for them.

Ae Meri Zohrajabeen

Let your parents relive their young days on your big days. A yesteryear song is sung by the legend Manna Dey is the perfect choice for the bride’s parents. The expression will come by itself while dancing on this. Though it might cause to shed tears, a feeling of goodwill linger on.

How to conclude the Sangeet Party?

After performing for hours, you will get much tired & you will have to conclude the event. We are sure these songs will be expressive as well as can maintain the party mood. Disclose the result of the duel and try to conclude the event with a family dance sequence. A family that dances together stays together. We hope our rundown will be a great add on to your wedding sangeet songs checklist. Please share your views about the same in the comments.
